Monthly Happenings

The church has various activities that you may participate in besides the regular Sunday Services. Choir practice is held every Wednesday. Church committees including finance, long range planning, religious education, fellowship, denominational affairs, publicity, social action, Sunday services, and more offer a way to become involved and get to know others in the church. From time to time small group meetings are held on a variety of topics during the week. Yoga classes are also available. AA and Alanon meet during the week.

Sunday Services

Services are lay led with congregational members and special guests providing the message. Topics range from studies of various religions, social issues, the environment, holistic health care, meditation and

more. Music is a vital part of each service along with a meditation moment and a chalice lighting to announce concerns and joys to the congregation. A children's moment is offered before the children go to their education program.

Fellowship

A day of fellowship and service coming in June at The Helping Place in Dahlonega. Check your emails or phone messages for details. Thanks to Paul Dunlap for coordinating this event.

GMUUC Games nights are held monthly on a Wednesday night after choir practice. Check calendar below for times and details. Join us for a night of fellowship, fun and games as we continue to match wits and skills at the game board and in group games.

Let's Get Going!........ "Get Out in Nature Group (GOING)" features a once a month walk or outing in nature on a Sunday afternoon after service. Our first GOING event was to Preachers Rock. Social Action

Each month the Social Action Committee has a session to discuss various topics that have ranged ranged from nuclear proliferation, the Iraq war, local items and other social issues.

Currently the group is working on becoming a Peace Church and have developed the banner below that will be used in peace marches. Several members have attended peace marches in Washington, DC and arrange transportation for others to attend.
