Share the Plate Program

The Mission of GMUUC’s Share the Plate Program is to support the outreach ministry of our UU Congregation by developing and coordinating fellowship based giving.

Each quarter, GMUUC chooses a nonprofit organization to share our weekly plate collection whose mission is aligned with our principles and values. Nominations are accepted for organizations that serve the northeast Georgia region from which we draw our members, or from organizations outside the region with which we have a reciprocal relationship.  This nomination must be completed by a GMUUC member or friend sponsoring this organization. Please contact one of our members if you are interested in being nominated.

There are seven principles that Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and society at large;

  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

Each calendar year, nominations will be reviewed to select a Share the Plate recipient for each quarter.  Each nomination submitted will be valid for that calendar year.
