Essentials for Growth - 'Stuff we Need Now!’ Fundraiser

This Congregationally approved fundraiser has two goals:

Raise $37,000 for building and site improvements - 'Stuff We Need Now!’

  • Clean up our Well Water

  • Expand our Parking Lot by 24 Spaces

  • Add 22 More Sanctuary Chairs & 40+ Folding Chairs

  • Enable Flexibility in Pulpit Location on Stage

  • Install a Bigger Name Badge Cabinet

See this link for details: Essentials for Growth Summary

Fully fund the Building, Grounds & Technology Reserve through a Matching Challenge: For every $1 gifted toward improvements, two donors will give $1 toward this Reserve (up to $35,000). The Reserve’s current balance is a meager $2,500.

If we exceed our goal and/or spend less than what is budgeted, the Congregation voted to deposit any ‘leftover’ funds in the Endowment Fund designated for Capital Expenditures where it will be available for future improvements to our campus.

How do I Pledge or make a Gift?

(You may pay your pledge in 2025, 2026 or over both years.)

You can mail the pledge form with a check made out to ‘GMUUC Essentials for Growth’ or drop it in the Sunday plate. You may also pay your pledge online through the link below.

Pledge deadline is November 15!

3. Family Fellowship: Guest at Your Table Potluck & Craft Day

Sunday, November 23: Craft Making After the Potluck

Following our Thanksgiving potluck, youth are invited to stay and make crafts together. We’ll keep it simple and fun—think painted air-dry clay ornaments, construction paper creations, and other easy projects. Families are also encouraged to make cookies or candies at home over the next couple of weeks to contribute to our December fundraiser.

Sunday, December 7: Youth Fundraiser After Service

After service, we’ll set up tables where youth can offer their handmade crafts and homemade cookies/candies for donation only. All proceeds will go toward our GMUUC Scholarship fund.

Any youth under 18 is welcome to participate by contributing crafts, baked goods, or candies. This is a wonderful way for our young people to share their creativity, work together, and raise funds for meaningful experiences.

We hope you’ll join us in supporting and celebrating our youth!
